Hello I recently installed the latest anylogic on my kubuntu 9.10 system. When I try to run the software with: /usr/bin/anylogic/anylogic -vmargs -Xmx1024M Whick is the command the shortcut the software created uses, here is the output: Starting AnyLogic application Java VM version: 14.0-b16 AnyLogic version: 6.4.1.200909211837 Instance location: file:/home/vikke/.AnyLogicUniversity/Workspace/ (anylogic:2472): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times Enterprise Library: Resource bundles are not found. Default values are used. Pedestrian Library: Resource bundles are not found. Default values are used. Exit AnyLogic application And after this happens a small window shows up with no content with the heading 'Anylogic'. The same thing happens why I try to run as superuser. I installed anylogic by running the binary file in my /usr/bin/ folder. I have aldready activated the product with a permanent key.
Hello Viktor, I've got the same output as you from AnyLogic 6.4.1 University Edition (Linux) on a Ubuntu 9.10 32bit machine (DELL Latitude D820). My previous message refers to a 64bit machine (ASUS X50). Have a nice week, Jose
Victor, AnyLogic was tested only under Ubuntu. As I understand, you're using Kubuntu operating system. BTW, it is highly recommended to install "xulrunner" package to make AnyLogic run correctly under Ubuntu. Also please try to install the original Java from Sun. The corresponded package can be downloaded here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp I hope it helps.
Hi guys, I tried it on Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1 and I get the same error. I highly need it cuz we're using in the university :(
The strange thing is AnyLogic 6.4.0 runs fine under Ubuntu 9.10 (in all machines I tried it!)
guys please can someone run anylogic from the terminal and make a screenshot for the output of the app in the terminal. I want to see what it looks like when it works.

Also Anylogic 4.0 fails to run on Ubuntu 9.10 - 64 bit : jm@gd-K50:~$ /usr/local/anylogic/anylogic & [1] 3130 jm@gd-K50:~$ Starting AnyLogic application Java VM version: 14.1-b02 AnyLogic version: 6.4.0.200904271353 Instance location: file:/home/jm/.AnyLogicAdvanced/Workspace/ /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgiogconf.so: clase ELF errónea: ELFCLASS64 Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgiogconf.so /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so: clase ELF errónea: ELFCLASS64 Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgioremote-volume-monitor.so: clase ELF errónea: ELFCLASS64 Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgioremote-volume-monitor.so Will Anylogic 6.5 work on Ubuntu 9.10 - 64 bit machines?
For all Ubuntu/Kubuntu and other Linux users: We are working on AnyLogic 6.5 for Linux now. The new version will be more stable when running on Linux, plus we will fix some Linux-specific bugs.
George, will AnyLogic 6.5 work on Ubuntu 10.05 (recently released) 32 and 64 bit versions?
AnyLogic 6.5 was tested under Ubuntu 10.05 LTS 32bit
Sorry, I mean Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 32bit of course, because 10.05 is not released yet
I'm sorry, yes it is 10.04 LTS, I was wrong. I'm tried AnyLogic 6.5 under Ubuntu 10.05 LTS 32bit and it works, but if I do File -> New -> Model then a small window is open saying : x------------------------------------------------------- | | Event Loop Exception | Reason: XPCOM error -2147467262 | x------------------------------------------------- OK --
Jose, Please try to remove "xulrunner" package to resolve this error. The step-by-step instructions is placed below: 1.Open Synaptic Pakage Manager 2. Click on "Search" and input "xulrunner" 3. Mark xulrunner 1.9.2 for removal 4. Apply
Hello Dan, Thanks for your help. After doing the four steps you said it seems that xulrunner was not entirely removed so I removed manually the two folders /usr/lib/xulrunner and /usr/lib/xulrunner-addons. But then when doing File -> New -> Model , an small window raises and saids: Event Loop Exception Reason: No more handles [Unknow Mozilla Path (MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME not set)]
Please download the latest version of AnyLogic 6.5. This bug was fixed and Linux builds are updated.
Congratulations, George! All my problems were solved after installing the latest version of AnyLogic 6.5. The only thing is my 3D Window appears very dark and a message appears in the Java Console: ==> do_wait: drmWaitVBlank returned -1, IRQs don't seem to be working correctly. ==> Try adjusting the vblank_mode configuration parameter. I think it can be a problem of my Xorg configuration : $ lspci -v Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Jose, Please go to the advanced properties of all 3D objects and turn off "Enable AnyLogic light shaders" option. Probably it will help to solve the problem.
