Hi there,
Somebody knows if it would be possible to create an Active Object Resistor, with tho ports, in order to model an
electric resistor in the way as Modelica or Dymola does?
The constitutive relation should be R*i = v (ohm law) but sometimes (parallel resistors) the unknown is i and
another times (serial resistors) the unknown is v.

Jose

Hi Jose,
Not sure, but I think there are special software tools for such physical tasks. What do you plan to model?

Hello Pavel,
I'm trying to model some thermo-electro-mechanical systems like event-controlled thermal motors and so on. I was trying
the Matlab-Simulink-Stateflow-Simscape software, but Matlab simulation engine fails a lot at controller events. I do not
know if Dymola-Modelica environment will work fine for this kind of models (with events and sometimes with variable
structure). I think that solving equations for non-causal models can load the solver with a hard task, additional to
event managing, that could rise problems.
So, probably AnyLogic could be an option, but the problem is that the models should be totally made from scratch, while
Simscape and mainly Modelica had built libraries for electrical and thermal components. What do you think about?
Best wishes
Jose
