Best wishes for the Holidays and the New Year from XJ Technologies and AnyLogic!

In 2011 we had two successful releases including new smart object libraries and unlimited runtime licensing, the development of our In-Depth training course, and all the many improvements that have earned us a 96% satisfaction score. Thank you!

28 October 2011

How do you spell 'unlimited'? We spell it AnyLogic version 6.7! Our new release offers unlimited runtime licenses — you can now save your models as self-running Java applications that require NO registration or activation. Your customers and colleagues will love this! We also have opened up the API to simplify calls/embeds from other tools and applications...so you can put AnyLogic's brains at the heart of your product. And applets now support full 3D. Registration for the Agent-Based Modeling Bootcamp for Health Researchers organized by Nathaniel Osgood is still open; please go to the tutorial website to register or for further information. A prospectus on the tutorials may be downloaded here. The tutorial seeks to provide health science researchers background with a systematic, practical accessible, and balanced introduction to agent-based modeling using familiar language and concepts. The tutorial will cover a broad set of topics in agent-based modeling, offer optional material for those seeking additional depth of coverage, and emphasize the complementary insights when agent-based modeling is combined with traditional health sciences approaches and with other systems science methods. Material from other lectures and tutorials by Dr. Osgood can be accessed here.

XJ adds 64 bit capability to AnyLogic 6.6 for Windows x64. Users with 64-bit machines can now take full advantage of their architectures. These 64 bit systems will have a definite advantage in work with all physically available memory. That gives a modeler the possibility to use more agents, larger datasets, arrays etc. Download the new version.

The best keeps getting better! AnyLogic 6.6 was just released packing a new graphical workflow for System Dynamics that will feel very natural to this breed of modeler, a new Road Traffic library joins the Rail and Pedestrian libraries to enable full-spectrum transportation modeling, improved Agent Wizards, ExpertFit Integration, more collection types, support for German and Chinese, and the ability to export your models to the new Runthemodel.com community. 31 March 2011

An agent-based model has been run on the Lomonosov supercomputer, the most powerful computer in Russia and the CIS. The model simulates Russia’s social and economic development throughout the following 50 years. Changes in population in definite regions (as well as the whole country), fluctuations of GDP, value of investments into industry and changes in added value of the scientific and innovation sphere were the main subjects of the modeling.

05 March 2011

A new chapter of «The Big Book of AnyLogic» is available for download: «Java for AnyLogic Users». This chapter will help the modeler to efficiently manipulate data and model objects in AnyLogic models.

ANYLOGIC EUROPE director Vladimir Koltchanov was interviewed by CBI TV at conference 3D Technologies: what benefits for tomorrow’s city? One of the unique AnyLogic feature is an ability to model pedestrians at very precise level taking into account their sizes, size of the layout, speed, obstacles, behavioral rules. It is widely used for simulation modeling of pedestrian flows and evacuation of railway stations, airports, museums, subway station, stadiums. During interview Vladimir demonstrates various examples including model of Eifel tower, Parisian subway station and shopping mall. The interview is available online (in French).

16 December 2010

A new chapter of 'The Big Book Of AnyLogic' is now available online. The chapter describes simulation modeling of rail transportation using the new AnyLogic Rail Library.

Customer survey showed that:

* Almost half of AnyLogic modelers are regularly creating Hybrid models by combining simulation methods!

* 80% of our users extend their maintenance because they value the excellent, and unlimited, support we provide and our frequent product upgrades.

* Not just power and features! We continue to make AnyLogic easy to use and flexible as shown by scores of 7 and 7.5 (from 10) in our recent customer survey. The proper mix of power and simplicity is not easy but we, and our users, think we’re on the right path!

* How do you define “Value” in a simulation app? How about Quality + Speed? Those are two of AnyLogic’s highest scoring categories according to our customers.

26 September 2010

The new survey results are back with some great customer suggestions for us to work on. And congratulations to Ilka Habenicht for winning the random draw among responders. Ilka gets a new 32Gb iPod Touch.
